Nia Shtai is a Tel Aviv illustrator and graphic designer working across Procreate and screen-based tools. Characters, fashion, and a certain dream logic share the same saturated color space. She also runs an upcycled fashion brand, which makes sense — the same care about image and material runs through both.
Meet Nia Shtai, a Ukrainian artist with a powerful and emotional story to tell. Born Levgeniia Batrushtai in Kharkiv, Ukraine in 1990, Nia's artistic journey began during a time of crisis as a student in boarding school. With power outages a common occurrence, Nia's teacher asked her to entertain the class by telling stories. This early experience sparked a lifelong love of art, one that has continued to guide Nia through the trials of life, including the current conflict in Ukraine. INSTAGRAM
