Biography
Keya Tama was born in Cape Town in 1997 and now works from New York. Her practice braids ancestral symbolism with graphic minimalism — each piece asking how much you can strip away and still say something complete. She has shown with Hashimoto Contemporary in New York and Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles, painted murals at festivals and institutions across Africa and Europe, and collaborated with the Royal Delft Museum on ceramic work.
